Electrical resistance is the opposition offered by a conductor to the flow of electric current. It occurs when a charge flowing through a conductor has it’s movement hindered by collisions with the atoms and impurities in the conductor. The collisions scatters the charges leading to the loss of their momentum and energy in the form of heat.
materials with high resistance has low conductance and vise versa,
Resistance is usually measured by an ohmmeter in laboratories.
