If you were going to open up a shop, what would you sell?
Business tries to solve people’s problems by giving goods or services. Money is the reward of that providence. To have a successful business, your products or services must give value to the recipients.
To know what products or services to provide, one must study the community that will provide clients or customers to know what are their needs. What people buy most depends on their culture, education level, economic level and social structures. For example there are products that does well in low economic areas but would never sell in high economic areas.
However business works better when it aligns with your passions. For example, i would enjoy selling technological like laptops, desktops and phones while all other factors are held constant. However, selling such items in my current location will not do give much profit. Hence i sell food items because that is what people in my neighborhood wants even though i don’t enjoy the businesses as much as i would enjoy in electronics.
