Do you spend more time thinking about the future or the past? Why?
We say that today is determined by what we did yesterday. That your life today is as a result of decisions you have made. Off course decisions were made yesterday. Historians says that history illuminates future. Past gives us experience, and experience can never be underrated. Experience contains our past.
While it is important to focus on the future, we should leave the past behind. However, the lessons learned can be very useful for where we are trying to go.
Our quality of life today depends on what we did yesterday. And so we can be able to understand our today better. Our clear understanding of today can help us plan the future and make right decisions. We have even developed algorithms in artificial intelligence to gather and analyze data of the past. This data is used as a tool that can be used to predict the future. This shows that we consider past to be as important as the future we want to have.
So when we talk about thinking, it is a complex process that must incorporate past and future not forgetting the present. We cannot think without considering the right information, and that information is either what we gathered in past or what others gathered yesterday.
Therefore I spend equal times thinking about future as well as the past.
