In pursuit of happiness

Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

Man in his life is always in pursuit of happiness. Most often we do whatever we do because they had real or perceived joy from it. However, greatest joy is found in the little things we do. Personally I derive joy in explaining things and when I provide solutions to problems in a way that makes life easy for my computer clients, whether it is hardware or software problems. While in school, I found joy when explaining scientific theories to student that looks at me with their eyes wide open because of amusement they get from my deep revelation I have in physics.

However, it is sad that we don’t always do the things that makes us happy. Most often we shelf what gives us pleasure so that we can do things that will pay our bills and brings us food on the table. We find ourselves stuck in jobs we don’t like because what we believe could give us joy is not in a position to earn us a living. we have to work, most often sacrificing our joy, so that we can have means to survive in this live, that is why they call it a earning a living. It is earning because we give up something to have what we need for living. Call it money or food, it costs something to get it. That is why we have unfulfilled dreams because we shelved something we valued for something that makes us survive the chaotic world in a world with limitations.

We don’t have many things in abundance, everything is scarce and so you have to sacrifice and give up energy, time and joy to have it. May be that is what we have soo many unhappy people in the world; because they gave up their joy to do what they need to do. They always feel that they are not having what they want and they are not doing what things that can make them happy. Probably the reason many people hate their jobs and have many sicknesses because they constantly work in unhappy condition

Sorry, the question is what simple things I do and they makes me happy.

Well, I do many things at random and they make make me happy.

The things that makes one happy probably changes with age, the things that used to make me happy five years ago are nolonger giving me that happiness. I used to enjoy writting simple programs in c and Java and when they could run, I was very happy, sometimes I could jump out of the chair and celebrate they way football fans do in the field or in the Tv rooms.

Nowadays, exchanging pleasantes with my significant others gives me more happiness than writting computer programs.

Selling something successfully to a customer provides me a great joy but some years back business was not my thing. I preferred working on complex mathematical or scientific problems than spending time and energy chasing money.

Unfortunately, I noted that, in our currently world, money answers all things. So I stopped being interested in research so as to chase that thing that answers all things.
