I have used internet to do a lot of things. Most of my higher education was acquired through internet. If there was no internet, life would be very different from what it is now.
Internet opened new ways of seeing the world and also has helped me share my thoughts to the world especially in social medial like facebook and twitter.
If there was no internet, probably it would have taken me ages to complete 4 years degree working in remote areas where it was very difficult to attend classes after work. In my university, there was flexible learning schedule which they calls assynchronized where you study materials online at your own time and pace. The lessons are accessed through network and no need to hurry up to catch bus so as to make it to town before 6:00am where evening classes began.
Through internet, we are able to learn and acquire knowledge in few hours which in early days could take months of attending classroom.
It is through internet i have learnt how to get jobs and have earned through remote jobs. By use of internet, i lost interest with limiting employment and i no longer need need to tarmac from one town to another and from office to office to look for jobs.
Through internet, i can get world news easily and know what is happening across the globe. I no longer need to rely on the tightly controlled media houses that will broadcast what the local authorities need to be heard.
I have traded through internet and i don’t need capital to have a front store or office to get clients and do business. I can easily check international conversion of current over the internet without going to banks to enquire.
Thought the internet has soo many benefits, it has it’s equal share of problems like internet fraud, automations that costs our jobs, hackers that steals our information, skimmers that targets our credit cards and artificial intelligence that is threatening any further creativity and online jobs.
All in all, my life after college was totally directed from it’s original course by discovery of internet.
My discovery of internet influenced me change my career when i discovered computer science through internet. I think it was wise of me leaving my old occupation which was limiting. Thanks to the internet that helped me to explore the world.
This is a dish that is to easy to cook. My family usually prefers it when we come home tired, are hungry and need to set up something quick to eat. The meal is preferred because it can be made easily and quick at the same time and yet it’s ingredients are not hard to find. After preparation, you can leave it to cook without alot of engagement with the cooking process. It is a powerful meal because it is full of spices that helps to keep your blood clean from toxins.
What you need
2 tablespoons of coriander
1 tablespoon of cumin
1/2 tablespoon of cloves
1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
1 tablespoon of cardamom
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
1/2 tablespoon of black pepper(optional)
2 bay-leaves(optional)
250 grams 1/4 kg cubed beef
3-4 medium sized onions
5 cloves of garlic
1/2 tablespoon of fresh ginger
2 cups of rice
4 cups of water
Salt
3-4 tablespoons of vegetable oil
2 tablespoons of Pilau masala mix
This ingredients are enough for 2-3 cups of rice, however this recipe described here uses 2 cups of rice.
INSTRUCTIONS
Start by frying the chopped onions in the vegetable oil until the onions are soft and almost browned.
Add in the ginger and garlic paste and let this cook for 2 minutes until they’re fragrant.
Add the cubed beef in, season generously with salt and cover.
Allow the meat to cook until it dries up. The meat with let out its own juices and cook in them, and it will eventually dry out and begin to brown.
Once the meat browns and caramelizes, add in the 2 tablespoons of Pilau masala mix( the pilau masala mix has the coriander , cumin, cloves, turmeric, cardamom, cinnamon and black pepper )and bay leaves.
Let the spices toast for a minute to let them bring out their best flavors.
Add in the washed rice and stir the rice into the spices until the rice gets mixed into the spices.
Finally, add in the 4 cups of water and let this begin to boil while stirring to make sure everything is well mixed.
Once it begins boiling, cover the cooking pot with foil tightly and reduce the heat to the lowest heat.
The rice will simmer on low heat for about 15-20 minutes until it dries out.
Once the rice is dry, remove the foil and fluff the rice using a fork. Remove and discard the bay leaves(if used).
Use the fork to mix up the rice with any of the beef and onions that might have floated and settled at the top.
Serve hot with some fresh kachumbari(salsa, optional)
The food cooked can serve up to eight persons.
FINAL NOTES
As much as following a recipe to the letter is great the cooking time may vary depending on the type of rice, amount of heat, amount of rice and the type of cooking pot used.
enjoy your meal! If you like it, don’t forget to invite us for dinner;
My favorite sport is football. Not only do i like and enjoy football, i love it. My relationship with football is intimate.
My history with football started when i was young. I used to pray in school team. Everybody wanted me in their team because i was a top scorer. Am very aggressive and have been always a forward prayer. Am not strong in the body but very swift. i wont give a powerful short but i would literally pass my tiny self through strong and huge bodies of defender and sneak the ball into the net together with myself.
I stopped praying football when our school went for district inter school competition and i was given the center forward position in the main squad. our first opponent team was the strongest. We rarely touched the ball, the ball seemed to be stuck and lost between their huge legs. I could never reach it. My whole body size was just the size one leg of the opponent players. I felt like a toddler before them. I managed to touch the ball twice in 45 minutes before i was substituted in the second half. I have never felt so intimidated like that day. It was my final year in secondary school, and i felt like that match has drown all reputation i had about being a talented football player in my village. Before that match, i thought that one day, i would play in world cup, but i realized that it was a pipe dream. “if a team in my district can be such intimidating, what about teams from another country?”. I remembered the story of Israelite in the bible which my dad used to narrate. That they went to spy a land, and they said that they were like grasshoppers before the inhabitants of the land, and so they were in their sight. I felt like a grasshopper before giants that day.
However i never stopped loving football. But I enjoy it the most when my teams are winning. Among my teams that i support is my national team. My favorite team is Brazil.
Football stirs a lot of emotions in people. People flood in the stadium to watch their favorite team. People cry when their team looses. They go through emotional turmoil when their team losses.
I would reschedule important assignments just to watch my favorite team play. I would jump onto the table and dance with joy when they score. I would speak about their win the next day to whoever that can give me their ears. I have seen my team win and it literally give me a lot of joy and satisfaction. My team winning is enough for me to have a smile for the next one month and if they win a tournament, i will always feel the sense of entitlement. Am always attached to my national team with mind, body and soul. When they are praying, everything comes to stand still. Thanks God am not a doctor or security officers because am not sure i can be able to respond to emergency calls at that moment:;
When they loose, It is a great pain to me. It will cause me to lack sleep, loose appetite and loose interest with the whole tournament. If it is world cup and they loose at group stage, that is the end of world cup for me.
But am not alone. At least i have never attempted to commit suicide or cause bodily harm to somebody else or myself because of football, like the way i have seen with some people. Sometimes, we funs of football we go overboard, we have soo much emotional attachment with it until we can do dangerous things like throwing stones in the field or crashing our television screens when our team looses. We can be violent to our wives when they provoke us as a way of displacing our disappointments. But at least i have never gone to such extents, i usually become calm after loosing, go to my room and feel sorry for myself. MY it really really hurt to loose a game as a team. I have seen football funs crying uncontrollably, mourning as if they are bereaved of their loved ones when their team looses.
I don’t have specific reason for loving football, just the way i cannot explain why i love my girlfriend. But i love football like no other game in the world
My pet is a cat called Cecilia. She is a very cute cat with white lovely fur that keeps her warm. She is very proud of her fur which makes her very beautiful. she has black marks at her forehead and brownish eye that turns blue at night, making her glow in darkness.
We are friends and every morning when am having break fast, she greets me meow!, If I don’t answer, she will repeat her salutations until I respond, then she will stare at me for few minutes to let me know that she needs breakfast too. After breakfast, when she notice that am not in a hurry to live the house, she will come and sit on the sofa next to me and be very calm. She will enjoy my warmth and presence. She knows when I need to be silent and relax and she behaves well. When she notices am angry or not in good mood, she goes to the next room.
I don’t think my pet need to understand anything. We are just fine without understanding each other’s language. We communicates through body language and feelings and we know what each one expect from each other.
I expect my cat not to misbehave but ensuring she goes to the right place for her toilet needs, she has a mat to sleep on, so if she sleeps on my clothes, I will knock her but if I don’t take care of her sleep mat she will make noise.
If she is hungry she will make noise and stare at me. We have lived together for over 2 years now without ever have spoken single word to each other, yet we understand each other very well. There is absolutely nothing I want my pet to understand!
Leadership has been defined mostly as the ability to influence an individual, group of people into certain behavior, action and thoughts in order to follow a certain direction towards achieving a certain goal. When we are considering leadership, we have the tendency to think about it in terms of heading organizations. But leadership can happen without an office or holding of popular positions. Leadership can involve influencing members of your family or even a group of friends or hangouts. Leadership can happen consciously or unconsciously.
Elements of leadership
Leadership has happened without even us noticing we are being lead or we are leading. If you have ever happened to influence anyone to take certain direction in life, regardless of your position in life, you are a leader in your own right.
Leadership may involves the following terms
Mentorship
Motivating
Guiding
Educating
Encouraging
Supporting
Directing
Influencing
Showing how to do something etc
We have both bad and good leaders but all of us desires good leaders.
What should we use to describe somebody as a good leader.
Qualities of a good leader
Inspirational
Good leaders usually stirs something inside us to want to do something worthwhile for others and for ourselves. They may do this because of their excellence that makes us want to be like them. Their character, way of doing things, their words and achievements makes us want to be like them.
Communication
Good leaders are able to communicate their thoughts and feelings effectively. Their speeches are usually convincing. Their words not only passes through ears but are conceived in our our hearts. Words of a good leader usually arouses the spirit within us to pursue something. For example, Barrack Obama when he was vying to be the president of the united states America moved the crowd because of his skills in speech and his inspiring words “yes we can”.
Builds confidence
A good leader makes people believe in themselves and that they can be able to overcome their challenges. Good leaders are like cheer leaders among the people who wants to give up. Good leaders remains optimistic when pessimism is hovering over everybody else. They see opportunities in hopeless situations. They acts as a beacon of hope when people are staring at hopelessness, for example Wilson Churchill.
Firm
Good leaders are not the type that is influenced by opinions. They make decisions based on strong facts and information and will not be prejudiced based on people’s opinion. If you have developed feelings based on what others has said without facts to support the feelings, you are far from being a good leader. Good leaders are not influenced in their decision.
Sees the bigger picture
Good leaders will see beyond current situations and see possibilities. They will not make decisions based on personal interests but for the benefit of every stake holder that will be affected by their decision. They will not focus on benefiting themselves through their position but will focus on building long lasting systems that will bring long term benefits to people. A good example of such leader was the third president of Kenya, Mwai Kibaki.
Source of security
Good leadership makes everybody feel secure around them. They will not be worried about unfair deals against them because they know the leader is a reliable person.
Think ahead
Good leaders are able to create visions and provide their followers with a course to follow. They provide dreams to be pursued and ways to pursue them.
Listening
Good leaders are not a know it all. You must recognize that your followers have something to contribute. Offcourse you may be surprised surprised that the people at the bottom pyramid in your company knows better what is good for the company compared to the top executives. After all, they could be closer to the consumer s than the top leadership
Ever learning
Good leaders are always finding new knowledge and better methods of accomplishing their goals. You learn from juniors, read books, learn from mistakes and from fellow leaders.
Compassionate
Good leaders will be kind to their subjects. Their aim is to offer leadership and sense of direction but not to boss around. Joy and happiness of the subjects matters to them. And compassion and kindness always work to the favor of such a leader.
Cluttering in life occurs when your life is disorganized.
Clutter is when you have things in your life that strains your capacity to manage. Clutter can be emotional, mental or even physical. However, physical clutter could be a sign you have mental and emotional clutter.
Clutter is a phenomena where we have confusion and lack of direction because we have allowed so many distractions in our life.
mental clutter is when you think about so many things at the same time without clarity.
Physical clutter is seen in things we keep and how keep them.
Emotional clutter can occur can occur when you have emotional attachment with many people.
A person with a cluttered life is a person who is holding more than they can manage.
Surprisingly, people whose life are cluttered are usually quite intelligent and very ambitious. Their essence of being ambitious makes them accumulate things in life. They could also be people that are nice and easy going that could be accepting too much from people. For instance, people that accepts too many requests for help or otherwise.
Do you usually finds it difficult to resist an offer for a new course, or an invitation to attend a function? Then you are a candidate for clutter.
If you have a cluttered life, you may have desks that are piled with things. Papers are full on your desk, your computer is full of files on the desktop such that you will take time and effort to trace any particular file and the number of icons cannot even all fit on the screen.
Your sitting rooms could be having things randomly scattered all over.
You take a lot of time to trace a misplaced item like a TV remote in a house you live alone. Your bedroom has pile of dirty and clean clothes that co-exists together.
Another sign your life is cluttered is that you wash clothes and when they are dry, you don’t put them in the right place, you can postpone arranging them and you find yourself looking from a pile of clean clothes what to wear. Before you know it, all your clean clothes are dirty again before you arranged any of them.
People with cluttered life usually have soo much to do at their hands but ends up doing very little. They feel overwhelmed by the number of things they are likely to accomplish and this may cause anxiety and compromise their ability to concentrate on a productive cause.
Effects of cluttered life
Loss of productivity
Cluttered life causes loss of productivity, time and strain relationships. When you have too much to do, you lack time to nurture meaningful relationships. Because of clutter, you may lack time to go out and create meaningful relationships because you end up being busy all the time and cannot manage time.
A coping mechanism for a person with cluttered life is procrastination.
people with cluttered life are usually distracted by new things. Usually they are overwhelmed by the number of things they need to do and so they pick new activities as a way to manage stress from overwhelming things around them. There is usually feeling of helplessness in the person because their clutter makes them weary.
wasting time
People with cluttered life usually wastes a lot of time because they take long time before they start doing what they need to do. For example if you have a cluttered desk, you easily misplaces files and tools of work. You ends up spending a lot of time looking for things. A person could spend substantial amount of time trying to find a file they were working on or a tool they have misplaced. They end up wasting time and they find that by the end of the day they have accomplished very little.
Stress
Time wasted when looking for things in clutter causes mental stress because you desired to accomplish much but now you feel frustrated because you had done very little by end of the day. The result is that you try to find coping mechanism by looking for more appealing activities like scrolling a phone or watching a video on the laptop, postponing activities that are giving you mental stress. you find yourselves lagging behind in projects and not completing your assignments on time. This can strain relationships with your boss causing you more stress. People with cluttered life are always stressed people making it difficult to harness their potential to achieve anything substantial. So clutter can cause you to fail in life.
hyper activity
People with cluttered life cannot have rest because they feel guilt when not doing something, and because they cannot rest, the don’t produce quality solutions to problems, hence they achieves very little. Clutter can cause you relationships because you are likely to lack emotional control as you are always stressed. Emotional outbursts can strain relationships at work and hinder career progression.
How to remove clutter
Manage yourself
No matter how busy your schedule become, be calm, don’t bow down to the feeling of urgency to keep doing something even when your body demand rest. Take a break, go and have nice time with friend, go and have a nice meal in a restaurant, you are not the one keeping the earth in it’s motion, relax.
Avoid procrastination
Do first things fast. Don’t postpone making your bed until later time. Fold your clothes immediately without waiting for a convenient time. Don’t postpone anything.
Be selective
Not very good deal that needs your attention. Just have feel few things to do. Avoid being distracted from important things in your life by some appealing activities. You don’t have to enroll for an online course that seems a super deal for your career. Go us of few things that can add value and not wide range of interests
Be neat
Take time to look for nice clothes for yourself, you works too hard, you deserve nice things. Groom yourself.
Ensure your desk or your house is not cluttered. Where necessarily, hire somebody who can arrange things professionally in your office if you find it difficult doing it yourself, after few times if paying their wages, you will learn the importance of being orderly and what positive energy it can bring to your brain.
Be professional
Arrange things in folders in your computer. Don’t fill your laptop desktop with files which will cause you spend useful time looking for things in your computer. Have a pattern of saving files. It can be frustrating when you have to spend half an hour trying to look for a file you created few days ago. Ask somebody from IT to help if it is difficult to manage your files in the computer.
Say no
Don’t be the nice guy in office that always pick tasks yet you have too much to do. Learn to tell people you cannot take any more. After all, when you burn out and become unproductive, they will accuse you for it.
Have a plan
Determine what activities you need to accomplish at a specific time and schedule for it. Break down a huge task into small chunks that can be finished within a given unit of time like an hour, 2 hours, half a day or even a day. Stick to your schedule and don’t pick some extra tasks in between.
Check your desires
There is a wise saying by king Solomon that says “A bird at hand is better that wondering of desires”. Don’t desire people that wont like you. Some people have emotional baggage because they don’t love people that loves but and they are always disturbed and angry because they love people that wont love them back. It is amazing how we often does that. Don’t ignore people that likes you as you pursue those that don’t like you. This way, you have better emotional support. don’t go for things you like in people, beauty and material things excites just for a short time, go for people that truly loves you, because only then you will have long lasting joy and stability.
Practice this for a month and let me know if it has not brought positive change to your life by sending me a comment.
