  • My first computer

    Write about your first computer.

My first computer was Dell Inspiron 5030 that was made of Intel Celeron processor. It’s speed was 2.3gh clock speed and it’s storage capacity was around 490.5Gb.

It was a powerful laptop in it’s own light.

I was very proud of my laptop. It was among the very first things I bought with my few months salary as a teacher.

I used to carry it everywhere and during lunch time, I could go with it to dining hall, open it when eating mostly to show it off 😉.

But it was the laptop that opened my world to computers.

I spent many hours of the day exploring it. I discovered internet through it and started visiting pdfdrive.net where I started downloading IT books.

I soon discovered that I could keep student records electronically and I downloaded a book about Microsoft access. I followed it letter by letter until I developed a complete database to keep student information and process their marks. I later developed another database which a gave to a religious organization for a few penny.

I was soo fascinated by the laptop such that I started pursuing IT as a career. That’s how I lost passion for education as a course.

I loved Java and that is how I once became the best in Java programing overall in our class of 2017.

I did all kind of things with the laptop. I installed windows, Linux, chrome os and even mac operating systems using sandbox.

It later became problematic, I learn to trouble shoot and reformat using command prompts after many days of trial.

I learnt painfully that formatting can cause you loss of variable information if done carelessly.

I once disassembled it part from part

    Cleaned evey component and then tried to reassemble it. That is how enrolled for computer repair and maintance course after being very excited about my achievements. After several days of struggle, I reassembled my laptop and it never worked like the old computer I knew . It was totally new. I later learnt that I have done what is called refurbishing to my computer I became addicted to my laptop. I spend all weekend indoor exploring computer world, I forgot to date. I forgot love of women, and I became intimate with computer technology, that is how I lived single for 10 years of working, studying Technology. It is that computer that has made me to live single:;

  • Tradition may not mean much

I think it is perfectly in order for people to shun their traditions

My community has many family traditions. I know very little about any because I have never been involved with any. I left home when still young and joined school far from home.

Am not a social person, spends most of time alone and won’t attend social functions. All that I care about is philosophy I have read in books, science and religion.

I have not believed on tradition because I usually use what is working now, not what is usually done.

Among the areas of society where tradition is strictly followed is in marriage and relationships. I have not followed those traditions practices. Everyone in my community who is my age is married with their youngest kid at least in grade 5. Am still dating and enjoying it.

In my community people believe you should marry at 20s so that you can raise children when young. I believe that you should marry when at 40s and so I have some more years before I settle down. Life is too short to entangle yourself with marriage when still under 30.

I believe people should concentrate more on self discovery before they engage in relationships.

When in my community, marriage is given very high regard, I have personal philosophy that I postulates that, self discovery should precede marriage. Never marry before you discover your purpose.

Where marriage and relationships is a beautiful thing, I don’t think people should marry before they discover who they were meant to be by the creator. It will make your relationship even more meaningful.

My nuclear family has not meaningful tradition because as an influencial member of the family, I have not given much attention to traditions, so my family have adopted my philosophy of four pillars of life: Beauty, Justices, love and pursuit of purpose.

So my siblings loves and supports each other very much. Am encouraged by their unity. I like it because each one of them want to pursue their purpose to it’s logical conclusion. We look for justice and mercy in every matter of our family. And we want to create a beautiful life for everyone. We strive to do that and that is what we live for. That is our tradition which will live in all our generations. All other traditions we will follow NOT if they will not subscribe to our philosophy.

  • The Cartesian plane

    The Cartesian plane

Cartesian plane is used as a frame of reference for points in a line. It has two lines that intersects at the center of a page such that they divide a grind page into 4 parts.

If you can remember the concept of number lines, Cartesian plane is made of two number lines, one horizontal and another vertical, where there zero point meets at the center of the page.

The points where this two lines meet is usually referred as the origin. The horizontal line in the Cartesian plane is refered to as the x-axis. The line drawn vertically is usually referred to as the y-axis.

For each axis, a suitable scale is chosen and then marked at equal intervals. The measurements on the axes are called the coordinates.

The coordinates are given as an ordered pair (x,y) with x-coordinate first and y-coordinate second.

The two coordinates are separated by a comma and are placed inside brackets. The planes on which the points lies is called the Cartesian plan .

    Example

Write down the coordinates of the following points:

    A, B, C, N, M, P, ,L and K.

    • A(3,5)
    • B(5, -3)
    • C(4, -6)
    • N(-7, 2)
    • M(4, 8)
    • P(8, 6)

  • My favorite sport

    My favorite sport

My favorite sport is football. Not only do i like and enjoy football, i love it. My relationship with football is intimate.

My history with football started when i was young. I used to pray in school team. Everybody wanted me in their team because i was a top scorer. Am very aggressive and have been always a forward prayer. Am not strong in the body but very swift. i wont give a powerful short but i would literally pass my tiny self through strong and huge bodies of defender and sneak the ball into the net together with myself.

I stopped praying football when our school went for district inter school competition and i was given the center forward position in the main squad. our first opponent team was the strongest. We rarely touched the ball, the ball seemed to be stuck and lost between their huge legs. I could never reach it. My whole body size was just the size one leg of the opponent players. I felt like a toddler before them. I managed to touch the ball twice in 45 minutes before i was substituted in the second half. I have never felt so intimidated like that day. It was my final year in secondary school, and i felt like that match has drown all reputation i had about being a talented football player in my village. Before that match, i thought that one day, i would play in world cup, but i realized that it was a pipe dream. “if a team in my district can be such intimidating, what about teams from another country?”. I remembered the story of Israelite in the bible which my dad used to narrate. That they went to spy a land, and they said that they were like grasshoppers before the inhabitants of the land, and so they were in their sight. I felt like a grasshopper before giants that day.

However i never stopped loving football. But I enjoy it the most when my teams are winning. Among my teams that i support is my national team. My favorite team is Brazil.

Football stirs a lot of emotions in people. People flood in the stadium to watch their favorite team. People cry when their team looses. They go through emotional turmoil when their team losses.

    I would reschedule important assignments just to watch my favorite team play. I would jump onto the table and dance with joy when they score. I would speak about their win the next day to whoever that can give me their ears. I have seen my team win and it literally give me a lot of joy and satisfaction. My team winning is enough for me to have a smile for the next one month and if they win a tournament, i will always feel the sense of entitlement. Am always attached to my national team with mind, body and soul. When they are praying, everything comes to stand still. Thanks God am not a doctor or security officers because am not sure i can be able to respond to emergency calls at that moment:;

When they loose, It is a great pain to me. It will cause me to lack sleep, loose appetite and loose interest with the whole tournament. If it is world cup and they loose at group stage, that is the end of world cup for me.

But am not alone. At least i have never attempted to commit suicide or cause bodily harm to somebody else or myself because of football, like the way i have seen with some people. Sometimes, we funs of football we go overboard, we have soo much emotional attachment with it until we can do dangerous things like throwing stones in the field or crashing our television screens when our team looses. We can be violent to our wives when they provoke us as a way of displacing our disappointments. But at least i have never gone to such extents, i usually become calm after loosing, go to my room and feel sorry for myself. MY it really really hurt to loose a game as a team. I have seen football funs crying uncontrollably, mourning as if they are bereaved of their loved ones when their team looses.

I don’t have specific reason for loving football, just the way i cannot explain why i love my girlfriend. But i love football like no other game in the world

  • Suppose i win a lottery

What would you do if you won the lottery?

Winning a lottery is a big thing. I always wonder if I will absorb the shock of getting the huge amount of money at once. I have heard stories of people that won $100,000 in lottery and they enjoyed their fortune just for a short time before they became broke again.

I think if I win lottery, I would just pretend I have not won anything for a few days. Then I would go for a vacation and relax. I would enjoy myself for some few days, sleep in a good hotel, eat whatever is pleasant, enjoy swimming and just have a good time. After a few days of rest and enjoyment, I will come back home and invest. Probably in a real estate.

  • Books to read

What books do you want to read?

The number of books to read are soo many. Personally I love reading. Am the type that would prefer to read a book than going for a date. The number of books in our university library is quite intimidating to me. If I was to live in the Library and do nothing else but read, I will need several thousands of years to live. But ops! My time here is not much.

    Am interested in almost everything, computer science, geography, mathematics, Physics, Biology, psychology, philosophy and almost everything else that give insight about the human life. Just like my fellow philosophers; Socrates and Aristotle, I love reading . I love reading like Isaac Newton and I like imagining like Albert Einstein. Isaac Newton and I have something in common, I read and I forget to go for dates:;

But if there happens to be a book that explains precisely and accurately all there is to human beings, I would love to have that have book.

I seek a book to explain why humans think the way they think. Why is human being soo selfish.?

Why are human beings never seems to be satisfied with anything in their world ? Why do they seek alot of things and still remain unsatisfied. Why the richest people in the world are not the happiest people in the world?

Humans always looking for power and control over others, why doesn’t even give them satisfaction when they get it?

For what reason has human beings caused soo much sufferings to other human beings?.

Why are women raped by men that were meant to help them?

Why are men killed and tortured and robbed of life by women that were supposed to love them and be their joy?

Why do terrorists kill people? For what ultimate benefit when you cause death and suffering and terror?

Why do rich people exploits the poor ones.

Why is human being soo wicked yet they have very short life spans.

Why are we soo worried about tomorrow? Why do we want to amass so much wealth about ourselves.? Why do human makes sophisticated weapons and technology to destroy each other?

Why do people that were once madly in love with each other, destroys one another with soo much hatred. What makes things we once longed for stop being exciting once we get them?

So I would like to know about this creature called man, their fears, their ,desires, their aspirations, their motivations, their sorrows and their joy and their woes

If you happen to have such a book . Then I want, soo badly. please let me know how to get it so that I can dedicate my life in reading it.

    Thank you

  • My dream job

    What’s your dream job?

My dream job is working as a university professor. This is because my natural inclination is to find solutions to problems, developing new knowledge and thinking abstractly. I would like to be a professor in computer technology because that is what I studied in my University undergraduate.

I can’t wait to address a large group of students that would be listening carefully what I have to say. I want them want to buy my books and be inspired by lecture. I want their university life be enjoyable and concepts look easy when I explain them. I don’t want to have only theoretical knowledge, but be inspired by works and do something for themselves. I want to do research and write thesis

I want to attend conference and discuss ideas and supervise projects.

I want to offer leadership in academics and change life’s, Making students enjoy their courses and find their passion. I want young people be able to find confidence in themselves, have sense of direction and use their natural abilities without needing to compete with anyone for opportunities, because they will have their own unique problems to solve. However, if I can solve problems and get paid and partner with others to do business, innovations and entrepreneurship and still mentor others, I will be fine without being employed by anyone.

    Thank you

  • Good leadership

    What makes a good leader?

Leadership has been defined mostly as the ability to influence an individual, group of people into certain behavior, action and thoughts in order to follow a certain direction towards achieving a certain goal. When we are considering leadership, we have the tendency to think about it in terms of heading organizations. But leadership can happen without an office or holding of popular positions. Leadership can involve influencing members of your family or even a group of friends or hangouts. Leadership can happen consciously or unconsciously.

    Elements of leadership

Leadership has happened without even us noticing we are being lead or we are leading. If you have ever happened to influence anyone to take certain direction in life, regardless of your position in life, you are a leader in your own right.

Leadership may involves the following terms

    • Mentorship
    • Motivating
    • Guiding
    • Educating
    • Encouraging
    • Supporting
    • Directing
    • Influencing
    • Showing how to do something etc

We have both bad and good leaders but all of us desires good leaders.

What should we use to describe somebody as a good leader.

    Qualities of a good leader

    Inspirational

Good leaders usually stirs something inside us to want to do something worthwhile for others and for ourselves. They may do this because of their excellence that makes us want to be like them. Their character, way of doing things, their words and achievements makes us want to be like them.

    Communication

Good leaders are able to communicate their thoughts and feelings effectively. Their speeches are usually convincing. Their words not only passes through ears but are conceived in our our hearts. Words of a good leader usually arouses the spirit within us to pursue something. For example, Barrack Obama when he was vying to be the president of the united states America moved the crowd because of his skills in speech and his inspiring words “yes we can”.

    Builds confidence

A good leader makes people believe in themselves and that they can be able to overcome their challenges. Good leaders are like cheer leaders among the people who wants to give up. Good leaders remains optimistic when pessimism is hovering over everybody else. They see opportunities in hopeless situations. They acts as a beacon of hope when people are staring at hopelessness, for example Wilson Churchill.

    Firm

Good leaders are not the type that is influenced by opinions. They make decisions based on strong facts and information and will not be prejudiced based on people’s opinion. If you have developed feelings based on what others has said without facts to support the feelings, you are far from being a good leader. Good leaders are not influenced in their decision.

    Sees the bigger picture

Good leaders will see beyond current situations and see possibilities. They will not make decisions based on personal interests but for the benefit of every stake holder that will be affected by their decision. They will not focus on benefiting themselves through their position but will focus on building long lasting systems that will bring long term benefits to people. A good example of such leader was the third president of Kenya, Mwai Kibaki.

    Source of security

Good leadership makes everybody feel secure around them. They will not be worried about unfair deals against them because they know the leader is a reliable person.

    Think ahead

Good leaders are able to create visions and provide their followers with a course to follow. They provide dreams to be pursued and ways to pursue them.

    Listening

Good leaders are not a know it all. You must recognize that your followers have something to contribute. Offcourse you may be surprised surprised that the people at the bottom pyramid in your company knows better what is good for the company compared to the top executives. After all, they could be closer to the consumer s than the top leadership

    Ever learning

Good leaders are always finding new knowledge and better methods of accomplishing their goals. You learn from juniors, read books, learn from mistakes and from fellow leaders.

    Compassionate

Good leaders will be kind to their subjects. Their aim is to offer leadership and sense of direction but not to boss around. Joy and happiness of the subjects matters to them. And compassion and kindness always work to the favor of such a leader.

  • Career dreams

There is nothing like a good career

Many people talks about their dream career and defines their childhood dream as what what they wanted to be when they grow up. Most often, when people talk about their childhood dreams, they are talking about the careers they thought they should be doing when they come of age.

Those childhood dreams in terms of career does not mean that we were created to do the jobs we think we should be doing. It is the society that created our ideas about what is great or not in terms of occupation.

Most often, when we talk about dream career, we are talking about what will make us look or feel important and so that could be the main reason everybody want have that high profile job. If you ask children about their career prospects, they will often mention those careers their society holds with high regard like doctor, judge, police, pilot etc. This is because people with those careers are highly respected in society.

Little did we know that, some of the careers we want so badly have people that are depressed, wish to quit and hate it. Many of them , it was their dream job, but now it is their night mare. We usually imagine happiness and status after attaining a position but soon after few months of excitement we lapses back to our state of dissatisfaction. We are no longer happy with our new job, we become bored with routine, we meet toxic workers, nagging boss or we wish we had time to do things we like and most often, we want to quit. We want to climb the ladder, we take extra courses, we go for masters, we train and work hard so that we can compete effectively with our colleagues for the limited positions in the company we work. When we attain a certain target in our career life, we realize that we want to go further, and we spend our lives chasing this or that so as to remain competitive, involving ourselves with what we call the rat race.

Most often, it is hard to develop strong bonds with people that we spend most of day with, because we dislike them. We don’t like them because we are competing for the scarce resources that we all need. Our colleagues in office are interested with the same position we are seeking. The competition and scarcity of positions we seek causes conflicts and we hates on each other.

after settling in our job we soon realize that there are things we love, other than our job, we call them hobbies.

Some people after developing their dream career to great to heights, finds themselves resigning because they realize that what they had been pursuing all through was not what would satisfy their souls. Soon you realize that, what your parents directed you to believe is great does not satisfy you, then you join a large pool of workers with emptiness in heart that is never filled by what they do, they perpetually seem to be seeking something they feel can only be found outside their work.

Most of people stay in their jobs because they have bills to pay and children to look after. They are unhappy, thought they earn money. Working is what they do to survive, but they don’t work as a way of living.

so what would make great career?

Anything you do and makes you happen without materialistic or external motivation, and that can create value to human kind is a great career. If we remove money in life, so that you no longer need to go to job to pay the bills, if you no longer need to go to work so that you can feed your family, then the job or the kind of thing you will be doing without worrying about economy is the career you should be doing. And that should be the dream career.

According to psychologists, people are motivated to do something by a number of factors. Behavioral psychologist, Abraham Maslow described the human needs as needs that are in hierarchy. when one need is satisfied, your soon sets itself in seeking fulfillment of another need that in the hierarchy. But i guess, what people lack and rarely get in their career is the aesthetic, self-actualization and the Transcendence needs.

So people could be loving their jobs but still feel dissatisfied with it because of the working environment that prevents them from seeing the beauty of the world( aesthetic), self-actualization and does not cater for transcendence needs. For this reason, people that are highly paid in their jobs keeps resigning and changing company. Off course, they do so because they have the privileged of having skills and competence that are competitive across organizations. There are people that stays for years in an organization feeling dissatisfied and unhappy but the reason they stay is because they don’t have the means, knowledge or abilities to move. Their dream career when they were entering the industry is no longer their dream career when they are nearing the retirement age. What am trying to say is that, people don’t necessarily enjoy the job they thought they will greatly enjoy when they were searching them.

    career

    Final word

A great career is not what look prestigious in society or the one that attracts hefty pay. It is what one would do without needing an income. It is what will sustain their happiness and satisfaction for years. It is what will make them remain at peace with themselves and other people for years on end.

A great career should help you see the beauty of the world apart from earning, It is a career that will make you feel that you have are contributing something worthwhile to the world regardless of its monetary value and status.

A great career is the one that will make you create and maintain worthwhile relationships with people for all the time, not the one that makes you compete with those that should be your companion for scarce positions and privileges.

However, great career should help you and your family to lead a comfortable life.

I don’t need to be a judge or pilot to earn a good living, as long as their is fairness in remuneration and work compensation that can cater for my needs.

However, because of capitalism, people at the lower level of society are usually exploited, leading to them being dissatisfied with work life. This is because they have less negotiation power and lacks opportunities or means to protect their interests. If there is a fair society that makes people be treated well, because they are human and not because where they come from what they do, then every career is a great career, if does not cause harm to anyone.

    A great career is the one that makes you feel that you are important to mankind regardless of your position in society, It could be as simple as being a tea girl in the office, a sweeper, a janitor, teaching or whatever that attracts very attention, but as long as it is giving you opportunity to see beauty in nature, makes you have good relationship with others and makes you be at peace with spirits, then It is a good career. If your career is not having those things we have discussed, may nature provide you with a dream career:;;
