Patriotism is the feeling of love, devotion, and a sense of attachment to a country or state. It is associating yourself closely with the pride of a nation that defines your nation. A patriotic person respects and supports the values and beliefs of his/her nation. You accepts and practice the culture of your country, you uphold it’s philosophy and your actions supports it’s well being. A Patriotic person will pay their taxes without need for coercion and strict follow up from their government.
Patriotism can be closely related to being loyal in that a patriotic person will avoid actions that compromise the well being of their nation like corruption, taking bribes and corroborating with terrorists. There was a case in a certain country where a terrorist group could send spies and they would carry with a huge amount of money, mostly dollars, which they would bribe security personnel on the border so as to enter the land without restriction. Consequently, their nation was massacred by terrorist, i wonder if they ever made use of their new acquired wealth when they had caused such a damage to their nations.
Patriotic people will want to fight for the well being of their nation. When Ukrainians were attacked by Russia, they showed patriotism when civilians took to themselves to act as army men for the sake of their country. Patriotic people will stand to safeguard dignity and sovereignty of their country in front of adversity.
Self-Interests
Unpatriotic people do not look at the greater good of a nation, but will seek personal gratifications at the expense of the greater good of a nation. We have seen that especially in dark countries which are ruled with dictatorship where leaders practices heavy corruption, take resources of their nation including government money to other countries and hide them there so that incase their country collapses, they will free to those countries for safety. Such people crumbled education and health systems of their country by stealing from their doctors and teachers so much so that there cannot be found quality hospital or sound practice of medicine. Doctors in such countries are made to work under difficult conditions, they work for long hours, underpaid and denied opportunities to further their studies. This is because unpatriotic leaders took the money needed to facilitates health developments to their personal use.
Ridiculous
The most ridiculous thing is that, when such leaders are sick, they are flown to other countries whose leaders has taken care of their health sector and have developed competent health systems with highly trained doctors. Thanks to their great stolen wealthy, they will seek the best health facilities with the best doctors in the world because they feel they are more important than the citizens they govern whom they have left to lot in poverty and impoverishment. Such kind of people has always carried a sense of self importance, they are characterized by arrogance, heavy spending and huge appetite for expensive things of the world. What they buy with their stolen money can help build amenities and do great things for their country but they like showing off, mostly to impress many women that surrounds them.
Immoral
Mostly; greedy leaders have huge sexual appetite and will always pursue every woman that passes their way, their offices is kind of a brothel of some sort. Woe unto woman that may need help from their offices, they will exploit their vulnerabilities and even threaten them just to have sex with them. The issue with unpatriotic leaders is that they have scarcity mindset which is a psychological problem. Though they are rich, they are very poor mentally and in their soul. They have emptiness in their soul which they tries to fill by grabbing whatever comes their way. They grab land, properties, money, women etc. but never seem to have enough because nothing under heaven or below the earth that can satisfy a greedy soul. Just like death, they will swallow the inhabitants of the earth but they never feel as having enough. Consequently, their citizens are oppressed and lacks basic needs like food, shelter, education, health care and jobs. Citizens of such a nations cannot be expected to be loyal, why should anyone be loyal to government that does not mind their well-being?
leading backwardness
Unpatriotic leaders will have their country characterized by little innovation, few scientific discovery and no new development of knowledge. This is because education of gifted children is curtailed by the heavily corrupted education system, They have poorly trained teachers that are usually demotivated. They don’t fund scientific investigations and education process is simply a process of acquiring graded papers without the holder of the paper having skills and competence to handle problems of the world. Their education system is a commercial one where education is sold to the highest binder. Good schools cannot be afforded by poor people and parents watch in despair as their bright and gifted students waste time at home doing manual jobs because they cannot afford the school fees charged.
This countries end up wasting a vast of wealth of talents and abilities because of corruption causing gifted people dies with vast of their potential which were never exploited for the betterment of their country and human kind.
Probably, all diseases could be having cure, were it not for poor children that were denied education by poor leaders that were too greedy and corrupt so as to see beyond their big stomach. Unpatriotic leaders often sends their children to overseas countries because they have no faith with education systems of the country they govern.
Unpatriotic leaders will try to destroy any leader or person that seems to outwit them in wisdom, so that in their kingdom, stupidity and folly prevails.
Gifts for countries
The greatest gift any country could have is patriotic, good and selfless leaders. One person once said this when he noted the prosperity of their nation due to it’s good leadership:

The place is as good as people living there or people that once lived there. America is great because of it’s pioneers like Abraham Lincoln. Great nations are great because of their fore parents that focused on building a nation beyond their immediate needs and gratifications. We will be ancestors one day, and our thoughts and actions today will determine the judgements of the offspring that will come from us. Let us be patriotic.
