My dream home is the one that supports my philosophy of beauty, love and justice.
Location
The home should be located in a place where there is accessibility, security and have provisions of basic amenities like constant water supply, place to do shopping and school for the children. It’s location should not give my family members difficulties when going in or out to their activities in the world. It should be a place my people would not worry about meeting gangs or harmed especially if they are alone or it is dark. The environment should be a sign of tranquility, security and peace. It should be surrounded by beautiful trees of different species and streets should be well made with decorations of precious and beautiful stones. As i drive or walk towards home, i would desire to see green everywhere, trees and glass.
Infrastructure
There should be enough rooms to cater for various needs. Among the most important rooms in the house is the bedroom. The bedroom design should be such that it is spacious, good air circulation and beautiful. The wall should be decorated with colors that causes mind to relax. Another important room is the sitting room, fitted with coaches and beautiful coffee tables should be a hospitable place for guest and family members. The sitting room should be spacious enough to accommodate about 30 people at once, because of regular visitation of family members and friends.
My home should have a study room fitted with shelves for books and study chairs, one for each family member and few for the guests. The home should have a place for exercise, a room for indoor morning exercise and outdoor field where family can do outdoor activities and enjoy themselves. I should have a field outside the house we can pray volleyball and where i can train my children how to pray soccer.
Swimming pool should be located some distance away from the main residential area as it may not be a regular place for my family. There should be facilities to regulate water temperatures in the swimming pool and regular flow of water for freshness.
My home should have rooms to accommodate strangers. The room should not be near my family house lest i welcome a stranger that will pose danger to my family. But when i meet a stranded person in the street, my home should be able to provide them a comfortable place for the night and also let him/her get food and drinks, without a cost. In my home there should be a place and rooms for meditation.
There should also be place outside to enjoy cool air of the evening and read books or have chats. The sitting place should be under beautiful trees surrounded by beautiful flowers. One should always be able to see beautiful stones everywhere coated with beautiful colors of purple, gold, and silver.There also should be garden with all kind of vegetables and fruits. The whole homestead should be secured with a concrete wall and electrical cables on top, rest wild beasts enter the garden and hide there. The fruits in the garden includes able and vines.
People
The people in my homestead should be happy. The buildings and all the art work and infrastructure is of no value if my family will not be able to have joy and peace. I want to hear laughter and singing in my compounded all the day long. It is a place of love, tolerance and unity. I want a place where people will share their thoughts without fear of judgement or without being criticized , a place where young ones will acquire wisdom of the elderly without criticizing it. I wish i will never hear insults and quarrels within my compound, only peace , love and laughter. I want a home where people will nurture their gifts and enjoy their daily work, a place of rest after fighting out there in the world.
