  • The most basic things for a good life

What are the most important things needed to live a good life?

Man is always in pursuit of happiness and pleasure. From the day man find himself existing on the earth, he has found himself being in pursuit of this or that and all is aimed at getting fulfillment to his soul.

Most often man imagines that he will be happy if he has large possessions of things like a lot money, cars, houses and the likes, and so he give himself to their search, he wake up very early, he puts on energy, he becomes ruthless, he works very hard, he steals where possible and when by chance he becomes rich and with great possessions, he starts feeling empty again. When man is in great possessions, he still feels emptiness in his soul, so he looks validation from other people by pursuing fame in order to be known. But still that does not satisfy. He thus seeks more pleasure, he seeks women or sexual pleasure, but after the indulgence, he still feels empty and lost. So he chases happiness in wine, he drinks himself silly trying to drown his sorrows, but when he becomes sober the tormenting ghosts of yesterday chases him. The evils he did in the exploits of getting successes comes back to haunt him. He recognizes that all that man does is vanity. Nothing that really matters. If you have a cool place to rest after your day’s work and have food on the table, you have everything you need in life. Am not saying that we should not work hard to accumulate wealth, it is important, but we should not attach happiness to material possessions. Many have lost their lives in an attempt to achieve more than necessary and get happiness that was not even in things they are chasing. But there are a few things my father told me and said that if we consider them, then we can have long happy life.

My son, if though wilt receive my words and hide my commandments with thee so that though incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding, do the following:

    Being kind to others

Being kind to others will keep you from being cruel or insensitive to their needs and feelings. This avoids unnecessary conflicts and makes peoples souls to be at peace with you, and great becomes your peace.

    Be simple

Don’t think great life is found in complex life like living in expensive places. Don’t spend a lot if you don’t earn a lot. Don’t strain to get things that needs you to deny yourself a lot in order to afford them. Don’t go for things that are not for people of your class if they are not fixed assests but and takes you long time to accumulate fund to have them.

    Humility

proverbs 18:12-“Before destruction the heart of man is haughty and before honour is humility”

don’t seek to be important to people. Don’t struggle for admiration or respect. Never demand for respect or recognition. You can never get real attention by powerfully seeking it. Just be happy with who you are not what others think you are. Chasing constant validation from others only interferes with your peace.

Proverbs 12:9 “He that is despised and hath a servant, is better that he that honoureth himself and lacketh bread.”

    Pursue God

Before the world was, God was there. Bible says God clothes himself with light as if it is a garment. When God was there, before creation of the universe, there was darkness, very thick darkness and very very cold temperatures and there was emptiness. The situations was gloomy but when God started speaking to the environment, life was created. Finding God will cause Him to start speaking life to your situations like your sicknesses, loneliness, your conflicts and whatever that makes your life look dark and cold.

    Good relationships

proverbs 14:28-“In the multitude of people is the king’s honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.”

If you can have a single person you trust at all times and you can entrust them with your own life, you are blessed beyond measure. Good relationships with people is better than great possessions. Possessions may enrich your physical life but cannot nourish your souls. pursue good relationship with people around you and let not material things despise people in your life. Do whatever you can to maintain health relationship with people in your life like your wife, children and relatives. Do not forsake old friends or allow freshly desires and lust make you betray people that are in your lives. I have observed people especially in Africa killing their spouses in order to enjoy the wealthy they can have through inheritance alone. That is a great error because without people to show kindness, forgive and tolerant, life is boring. The people that annoys you are still important in your life, dont get lid of them when you have power, because when they are gone out of your life, you wont be as happy as you have imagines. Don’t be quick to drive away people from you, be long suffering like God your creator.

    Being friendly

He that will have many friends, must show himself friendly. I know this can be seen as risky, but i believe we can stop being more friendly to strangers even if we are taking precautions from hijackers. It is better to have many friends that enemies. Be approachable and don’t have soo many social boundaries. Break your boundaries and associate with all people , just like children. Children are soo admirable to me, they just get along with anyone and don’t even consider the class of anyone when socializing, they are just happy and excited to pray with whoever that is around them. That is why we refer them as little angels, because of their pure heart. Until they are taught by adults, social stratification remains oblivious to them in their daily endeavors.

    Being tolerant

Don’t be quick to take offence, ignore mistakes and allow other people to make errors.

proverbs 20:3- “It is an honour for a man to cease from strive: but every fool will be meddling”.

    Being selfless

Don’t always seek only things of your own. Do not take bribe to avert justices and always consider the needs of others besides your own. Before you do anything against anyone, consider what effect it would have if you happen to be the subject of your intended action.

  • Personality Types: Introverts, Extroverts, and Ambiverts

Who do you spend the most time with?

In psychology, personality types are often categorized based on various traits and characteristics that describe how individuals tend to behave, think, and feel in different situations. Here are explanations of some common personality types:

    Introverts

Introversion is a personality trait characterized by a preference for solitude, quiet environments, and internal reflection. Introverts tend to feel drained by social interaction and often need time alone to recharge their energy. They may be more reserved in social settings and prefer deeper one-on-one conversations over large gatherings.

    Extroverts

Extroversion is the opposite of introversion and refers to a personality trait characterized by a preference for social interaction, excitement, and external stimulation. Extroverts tend to be outgoing, energetic, and thrive in social settings. They often enjoy being the center of attention and may feel energized by being around others.

    Ambiverts

Ambiverts fall somewhere in between introversion and extroversion. They may exhibit characteristics of both personality types depending on the situation and context. Ambiverts can be social and outgoing when they want to be, but they also value alone time and introspection.

    Sanguine

Sanguine is one of the four temperaments identified in ancient Greek and Roman medicine and refers to a personality type characterized by optimism, enthusiasm, and social adaptability. Sanguine individuals are typically outgoing, talkative, and enjoy being around people. They tend to see the bright side of life and are often described as cheerful and lively.

    Melancholic

Melancholic is another of the four temperaments and represents a personality type characterized by introspection, sensitivity, and deep emotional experiences. Melancholic individuals may be thoughtful, analytical, and prone to moodiness. They tend to be introspective and may struggle with self-doubt or depression.

    Choleric

Choleric is a temperament associated with assertiveness, determination, and high levels of energy. Choleric individuals are often driven by a strong sense of purpose and may be natural leaders. They can be competitive, ambitious, and may have a low tolerance for inefficiency or indecision.

    Phlegmatic

Phlegmatic is the fourth temperament and represents a personality type characterized by calmness, patience, and emotional stability. Phlegmatic individuals are typically easygoing, even-tempered, and prefer to avoid conflict. They may appear relaxed and unflappable even in stressful situations.

These personality types offer generalized descriptions of common patterns of behavior and temperament, but it’s important to remember that individual personalities are complex and may not fit neatly into any one category. Additionally, many contemporary personality theories focus on traits rather than types, recognizing the multidimensional nature of personality.

    1. The Impact of Names on Identity and Success

If you had to change your name, what would your new name be?

The Lord God mentions my name in Isaiah 45:1. It is already blessed. But no name is greater than the name of Jesus. It is only name given that men should be saved there in.

Sprits can follow a name depending on it’s meaning, but God has neutralized effects of names in our lives by giving the name of his son Jesus Christ to the point of reference on all spiritual matters.

      Philippians 2:9-10 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Overall, a name is more than just a label—it can shape a person’s experiences, opportunities, and sense of self in profound ways throughout their life.

The effects associated with a name on someone’s life can be profound and multifaceted. Here are several ways in which a name can impact an individual. However, this effects could be more imaginative than reality. They resides more on our brains than on the truth.

      Identity Formation

A name is often one of the first aspects of identity that a person encounters. It becomes a fundamental part of how they see themselves and how others perceive them. A name can shape a person’s sense of self and influence their behavior and choices.

      Cultural and Social Perception

Names can carry cultural and social connotations. They may indicate ethnicity, religion, or socioeconomic background. People often make assumptions based on someone’s name, which can affect how they are treated in various social contexts.

      Expectations and Stereotypes

Certain names may be associated with specific traits or stereotypes, whether positive or negative. For example, someone named “Grace” might be expected to be graceful, while someone named “Rock” might be assumed to be strong or resilient. These preconceived notions can influence how others interact with an individual and how they perceive themselves.

      Professional and Academic Success

Research suggests that people with certain types of names may encounter biases in professional and academic settings. Studies have shown that individuals with names that are perceived as more “white” or “traditional” may receive more positive attention from employers and educators compared to those with names that are perceived as ethnic or unconventional.

      Personal Associations and Emotional Impact

For many people, their name carries personal associations and emotional significance. It may be linked to family history, cultural heritage, or personal experiences. A name can evoke feelings of pride, nostalgia, or even discomfort, depending on the individual’s relationship with it.

      Legal and Administrative Considerations

A person’s name is often used for legal and administrative purposes, such as identification, official documents, and financial transactions. Inaccurate or inconsistent use of a name can lead to confusion, inconvenience, or even legal complications.

      Self-fulfilling Prophecy

There is a concept known as the “nominative determinism,” which suggests that people may be influenced by their names to fulfill certain roles or expectations. While this idea is controversial and not universally accepted, there is evidence to suggest that individuals may be subtly influenced by the characteristics associated with their names.

However, in our modern world, it is bad to judge people based on their names because martin Luther said that people should be judged by content of their character and what is in their heart but not on their color or where they come from.

      1. Exploring Magnetism: Properties, Laws, and Materials

Magnetism is the study of magnets and it’s properties.

A magnet is a piece of iron that attracts objects made of iron families towards it. A magnet can be either natural or a piece of iron core that becomes a magnet because of an electric current passing through it.

Magnets can be made with different shapes and with poles at desirable points.

Bar magnets is the most common type of magnets especially for investigation of magnetic properties

        Properties of magnets
        • They attract other materials called magnetic materials
        • When allowed to float freely, they settle with their poles facing Earth’s geographic north and south.
        • Magnetic strength is strongest at the ends of the magnet called poles.
        • Magnetic poles have the same magnetic field strength.
        • Magnetic poles are called south pole and north pole and always in pairs that cannot be separated.
        The basic law of magnetism

        It states that:

Like poles repel, unlike poles attract.

When two magnets are suspended freely, the poles that faces the same direction will repels each other.

Only two similar magnetic poles can repel each other.

Magnetic poles can attract poles opposite to them and also magnetic materials that are not magnets.

Not every material that is attracted by a magnet but only some materials especial those from iron family. Materials that can be attracted by a magnet are usually referred to as magnetic materials while those that cannot be attracted by magnets are referred to as non-magnetic materials.

        Magnetic attraction

If the head of light pin is brought to contact with north pole of a magnet and then the north pole of the a second magnet brought close to the tip of the hanging pin, the hanging tip of the pin is repelled by the north pole. see the illustrations below.

This shows that the pin has acquired a north pole at it’s hanging end otherwise there would be no repulsion.

If the pin was attached to the south pole of the magnet, the free end of the magnet is observed to repel a south pole and attract a north pole showing that it is a north pole.

The causes of attraction is due to magnetization of the pin by the process called induction. The material attracted gains an opposite pole the to that of attracting pole of the magnet by induction, at the end of the object in contact with the magnet.

Induction is the process by which a material becomes a magnetic due to its nearness to the magnetic or by being inside a b field.

A magnetism results from induction is known as the induced magnetism. The resulting magnetism may be retained for some time after the magnetism is removed.

Soft and hard magnetic materials materials

When magnetic materials are removed from magnetic field, they loose their magnetism. How fast the magnetism is lost depends on the material used.

When iron and steel are brought to contact with pole of a magnet ,iron is observed to have stronger magnetism than steel. see the illustrations below.

more iron fillings attracted by iron when both iron and steel are attached to a magnetic

When they are removed from the magnetizing field, steel is observed to have stronger magnetism than iron as in illustrations below.

showing iron attracting much less iron filings than steel after both are detached from pole of a magnet

This shows although iron is more strongly magnetized in the presence of magnetic field and it’s magnetism is rapidly lost as the magnet is removed. Nickel and cobalt would also behave like iron. Steel remains it’s magnetism more than the iron.

Materials that are easily magnetized and therefore readily attracted by a magnets are called soft magnetic materials. Soft magnetic materials loses it’s magnetism quickly when magnetizing agent is removed.

Steel does not gain magnetism quickly but slowly, however, it retains it’s magnetism for much longer time and sometimes permanently magnetized.

Materials that are not easily magnetized or attracted by a magnets but retains their magnetism for long time after magnetization are called Hard magnetic materials.

      3. Merchant of venice

Do you remember your favorite book from childhood?

“The Merchant of Venice” is a famous play written by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written between 1596 and 1599. It’s categorized as a comedy, although it also delves into darker themes such as justice, mercy, and prejudice. The story revolves around a merchant named Antonio, who borrows money from a Jewish moneylender named Shylock. When Antonio is unable to repay the debt, Shylock demands a pound of his flesh as repayment, leading to a dramatic courtroom scene. The play is known for its complex characters and thought-provoking exploration of themes.

“The Merchant of Venice” is a complex play that touches upon themes of love, friendship, justice, and prejudice. At its core, it explores the nature of mercy and justice through the character of Shylock, a Jewish moneylender who seeks revenge on Antonio, a Christian merchant who has defaulted on a loan.

The play is set in Venice and begins with Antonio agreeing to borrow money from Shylock to help his friend Bassanio court the wealthy heiress Portia. However, when Antonio’s ships fail to return, he is unable to repay the loan, leading Shylock to demand a pound of Antonio’s flesh as collateral.

The climax of the play occurs in court, where Portia, disguised as a male lawyer, argues for mercy and ultimately outwits Shylock, forcing him to show mercy instead of demanding his pound of flesh.

Despite its comedic elements, “The Merchant of Venice” also raises questions about the treatment of minorities and the consequences of prejudice. Shylock, often portrayed as a villain, is a complex character who challenges the audience’s assumptions about justice and mercy.

Overall, “The Merchant of Venice” remains a timeless work that continues to spark debate and analysis centuries after its creation.

      5. Overcoming Scarcity Mindset: Embracing Spending and Giving

What fears have you overcome and how?

It was the best things that happened as I noticed that fear of spending can keep you poor. Fear of spending, also known as being stingy keeps you from investing because you are scared of loosing whatever little you have. Fear of spending is found in people with scarcity mindset which mostly develop when one grows in an environment of limited resources.

When you fear spending, mostly you depend on salary which you will use sparing foregoing many needs and wants in order to sustain it till the next pay slip. And because salary is limited, it leads you to limited life and it strengthens scarcity mentality because it trains you to stay in smallness and in scarcity as salary can never be enough for you.

people with scarcity mindset finds it difficult to give which reduces their chances of succeeding because it is hard to succeed if you are a stingy person.

        How I overcome

Just being a give. I started sharing whatever I have with those that need it and I stopped fearing loosing. I realized I have given so much in a year and thought, what if I invested the way I give out money, and I got results

      6. In pursuit of happiness

Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

Man in his life is always in pursuit of happiness. Most often we do whatever we do because they had real or perceived joy from it. However, greatest joy is found in the little things we do. Personally I derive joy in explaining things and when I provide solutions to problems in a way that makes life easy for my computer clients, whether it is hardware or software problems. While in school, I found joy when explaining scientific theories to student that looks at me with their eyes wide open because of amusement they get from my deep revelation I have in physics.

However, it is sad that we don’t always do the things that makes us happy. Most often we shelf what gives us pleasure so that we can do things that will pay our bills and brings us food on the table. We find ourselves stuck in jobs we don’t like because what we believe could give us joy is not in a position to earn us a living. we have to work, most often sacrificing our joy, so that we can have means to survive in this live, that is why they call it a earning a living. It is earning because we give up something to have what we need for living. Call it money or food, it costs something to get it. That is why we have unfulfilled dreams because we shelved something we valued for something that makes us survive the chaotic world in a world with limitations.

We don’t have many things in abundance, everything is scarce and so you have to sacrifice and give up energy, time and joy to have it. May be that is what we have soo many unhappy people in the world; because they gave up their joy to do what they need to do. They always feel that they are not having what they want and they are not doing what things that can make them happy. Probably the reason many people hate their jobs and have many sicknesses because they constantly work in unhappy condition

Sorry, the question is what simple things I do and they makes me happy.

Well, I do many things at random and they make make me happy.

The things that makes one happy probably changes with age, the things that used to make me happy five years ago are nolonger giving me that happiness. I used to enjoy writting simple programs in c and Java and when they could run, I was very happy, sometimes I could jump out of the chair and celebrate they way football fans do in the field or in the Tv rooms.

Nowadays, exchanging pleasantes with my significant others gives me more happiness than writting computer programs.

Selling something successfully to a customer provides me a great joy but some years back business was not my thing. I preferred working on complex mathematical or scientific problems than spending time and energy chasing money.

Unfortunately, I noted that, in our currently world, money answers all things. So I stopped being interested in research so as to chase that thing that answers all things.

      7. Recognizing the Signs: When to Unplug and Reconnect with Yourself

How do you know when it’s time to unplug? What do you do to make it happen?

knowing when it’s time to unplug and reconnect with yourself is a skill that requires self-awareness and conscious effort. By listening to your body and mind, setting boundaries with technology, prioritizing self-care rituals, and practicing mindfulness and reflection, you can cultivate a greater sense of balance and well-being in your life. As a life coach, I encourage my clients to make self-care a non-negotiable priority and to embrace the transformative power of unplugging in today’s hyper-connected world.

In a world where everyone is very busy , there is always soo much to do. We only fall short of time but never on things to do. Besides, there is too much information to consume such that we can easily feel overwhelmed. the constant barrage of information and connectivity can sometimes overwhelm us, leaving us feeling drained and disconnected from ourselves.

        Nowadays the internet is full of social media information that effectively keep us glued to our gadgets for ours, am afraid soon we start being glued to our gadgets for days nonstop:;;;

As a life coach, one of the most important lessons I impart to my clients is the art of knowing when it’s time to unplug and prioritize self-care. But how do you recognize these signs, and more importantly, how do you take action to make it happen?

Listen to Your Body and Mind

Our bodies and minds often give us subtle cues when they’re in need of a break. Feeling unusually fatigued, irritable, or experiencing difficulty concentrating are all signs that it might be time to step back and recharge. You need to switch off your gadgets and keep them away.

As a life coach, I encourage my clients to tune into these signals and to recognize that self-care is not selfish, but rather essential for overall well-being.

        Assess Your Energy Levels

Reflect on your energy levels throughout the day. Are you constantly running on empty, feeling depleted even after a full night’s sleep? If so, it’s a clear indication that you need to prioritize downtime and relaxation. Making time for activities that nourish your soul, whether it’s reading a book, going for a walk in nature, or practicing mindfulness, can help replenish your energy reserves.

        Set Boundaries with Technology.

In today’s digital age, it’s easy to become glued to our screens, constantly checking emails, social media notifications, and messages. However, excessive screen time can take a toll on our mental and emotional well-being. As a life coach, I advocate for setting boundaries with technology by designating specific times during the day for digital detoxes. This could involve turning off notifications, limiting social media usage, or even scheduling regular technology-free periods.

        Prioritize Self-Care Rituals

Incorporating self-care rituals into your daily routine is essential for maintaining balance and inner harmony. Whether it’s taking a warm bath, practicing yoga, or enjoying a cup of herbal tea before bed, these rituals can help signal to your mind and body that it’s time to unwind and relax. As a life coach, I encourage my clients to experiment with different self-care practices and to find what works best for them.

        Practice Mindfulness and Reflection

Taking time for introspection and reflection is crucial for personal growth and self-awareness. As a life coach, I often recommend mindfulness practices such as meditation or journaling to help my clients quiet their minds and connect with their inner selves. By regularly engaging in these practices, you can gain clarity on what truly matters to you and make conscious choices that align with your values and goals.
